What is the Root Cause Protocol?

The Root Cause Protocol is a practical, holistic method of healing rooted in science that aims to identify and address underlying imbalances to enhance your overall well-being. We know that the root cause of inflammation (aka oxidative stress), is “cellular dysfunction” caused by an imbalance of 3 essential minerals: Magnesium, Copper, and Iron. By following the RCP, we aim to restore balance of these key minerals and many others, so your cells can function at their best. This means better performance for your organs, hormones, and every other system in your body, fueled by the nutrients they need.

How do I know if a consultation is right for me?

If you have been to your doctor and left feeling like they didn’t listen to you, didn’t ask the right questions, and you didn’t get any of the answers you needed, you’re not alone. My consultations are a minimum of 45 minutes long so that we have plenty of time to talk about every issue you may have and the factors in your life that could be playing a part. You will feel heard, acknowledged and reassured during our meetings. Consultations are tailored to various and specific needs of each person, if you’re seeking personalized guidance on your health journey, our sessions could be a perfect fit.
u

What happens during a consultation?

Prior to our consultation, you will complete an in-depth questionnaire about your health history and daily routines. This will provide me valuable information about your current concerns as well as factors that could be playing into the symptoms you are experiencing. Our consultations will be done over Zoom where we will delve deep into your health history, reviewing lab results, stress patterns, and symptoms. We then craft a personalized plan that resonates with you, promoting both inner and outer balance. I will help you put together a daily and weekly plan so you can start implementing steps right away.
u

What if I have follow up questions after our meeting?

We will cover a lot of information during your consultations but don’t worry, I will record every meeting and send it to you with a summary recap after so you always have access to the information we talked about. You may also email me directly if you have any questions after we have had our initial consultation.
u

What types of lab work are considered?

We review both Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) and Blood Work to gain a comprehensive understanding of your body’s mineral and hormonal dynamics. Lab results are not required for our initial consultation but are highly recommended for following consults. Please see “Types of Testing I Recommend” below for more information on these labs and how to obtain them.
u

How is stress linked to my health?

There is an intricate relationship between the stress you experience in life and the symptoms expressed in your body. Unraveling how these factors intersect and impact your well-being is the key to getting you pointed in the right direction and rebalancing your life.
u

Can this protocol benefit athletes?

Absolutely, we specialize in enhancing athletic performance through tailored holistic routines and strategic supplementation. The RCP as of late has been gaining more and more attention among athletic groups who are looking to optimize at every level. Athletes, more than most, understand the importance of maintaining a healthy body, down to the cellular level. The RCP helps address mineral deficiencies in athletes that most other protocols do not.
u

How do you address women's health, including pregnancy and menopause?

Our approach is designed to assist women in various stages of life, whether you’re dealing with unexplained hormonal changes, preparing for pregnancy or navigating menopause, by restoring balance through personalized plans that fit into your lifestyle and help you feel more grounded. My goal is not to overwhelm you with a mile long list of supplements, but rather to listen to your needs and create a plan where we can gradually implement the protocol all while listening carefully to your body.
u

What if I'm looking for a preventive approach to health?

The Root Cause Protocol is preventative by nature and implementing it will have long-term, preventative benefits. I’m here to guide you in cultivating a preventive, holistic routine that seamlessly integrates with your daily life, promoting long-term well-being.

Types of Testing I Recommend

HTMAHair Tissue Mineral Analysis

N
Your hair contains all the minerals present in your body, including nutritional minerals as well as toxic heavy metals. Hair mineral analysis is a laboratory test that measures this mineral content of the hair. The test results reflect how much of these elements are in your tissues and provide a vivid picture of your internal environment.
N
This type of testing is done through my partnership with Trace Elements (TEI) which is a leading worldwide laboratory
N

TEI generates a comprehensive laboratory report with your results which you and I will review together and interpret through a Root Cause Protocol focused lens

N

“Iron studies”, including:

  • Serum Iron
  • Total Iron-binding Capacity (TIBC) and/or Saturation
  • Serum Transferrin
  • Serum Ferritin

Blood Work “The Full Monty” Panel

Ultimately we want to look at the following blood markers (aka the “Full Monty blood panel”):

N

Serum Copper

N

Serum Ceruloplasmin (or Caeruloplasmin)

N

Red Blood Cell (RBC) Magnesium

N

Plazma Zinc
